The Best Idea To Come From The Best Idea...

When I first started this adventure, 'Milo and Me', I never in my wildest dreams imagined it would receive such  a massive and positive response. I had my dream to get myself a motor home and just drive off with Milo and hope that on our journey I would stumble upon my Mr Right.  Well, that was until the media got hold of it!

So, from the original enquiry from The Sunday Post resulting in a two page spread, has come this avalanche of press/media coverage!   I'm not even aware of all the papers this has appeared in, I'm reliant on my friends telling me on a daily basis.  And who'd of thought I'd be doing so many radio interviews?  Then to top that TV channels have asked to film our adventure!

So, now I have started thinking... Who is my audience? Who is listening to what I say? Who is reading my story? Who is following my journey? The answer is MEN. Lots of Men. Mainly Men. Lovely Men. Practically all Men. All sorts of Men. All ages of Men. And some ladies with Men in their lives.

So that got me thinking (lots of thinking going on at the moment!) about sending out a strong message to these MEN.  Sadly over 10 years ago my father died after suffering from Prostate Cancer.  My father was one of life's true gentlemen, loved by everyone that knew him. He was a bit of a character and led a full and eventful life.  My father was an inspiration to me and still is.  Unfortunately his Prostate Cancer was not picked up early enough, and even though he had the best medical help at Clatterbridge Hospital, he was unable to fight it, and God knows he tried!

And there comes my Best Idea Yet.  I am now in the process of trying to find out how I can set up a funding project to run alongside 'Milo and Me' to bring awareness to all these MEN about Prostate Cancer and raise money for research. Even if just one man was to spot the signs and symptoms and
receive an early diagnosis he could possibly stay around to be someone's father just a bit longer :)

Update :)
