Me..

I suppose I'm a day dreamer kind of girl.  I was an extremely shy child and lived in my own make-believe world. My parents moved house a lot and subsequently I attended various different schools.  Growing up I just assumed I would marry a prince and live in a castle, and I am actually still waiting!
I grew up in Liverpool and have since lived in various locations including London, Scotland and North Wales.

I've had such a varied employment history I can't remember it all! Biggest chunk was 10 years as an air hostess which provided the most fun ;)

Relationship wise I've proved to be a failure at :( I have possibly  compared each man to my 'prince' and subsequently none compared. Only positive to come from my chequered love life is my gorgeous son, oh and one relationship where I got to keep the engagement ring and a Brabantia bin! (I love that bin).

So basically my love life has been a disaster, and there have been many contenders! I have come to the conclusion that I need to go and look for my true love because he ain't knocking on my door.  And this is the reason for Milo and Me (looking for love).

We aim to get ourself a motorhome (somehow/anyhow!!!) and take our journey around the UK coast (Milo loves swimming) and search for him.  I have no idea what he looks like but I'll know him when I see him...

  2. Morning from Burnley! Just read your story and wanted to tell you how uplifting it is, it's given me a smug appreciation and confirmation that there are happy endings for good people who are prepared to take a sod-it approach to chance / life and go against the norm, the norm is over-rated. Good on you all !! Tracey.

  4. You reminded me of myself in lots of ways ! I'm 50 yrs old, got my dog and been un lucky in love..lol.. I'm also from the North West not far from Liverpool and I was chuckling to myself reading the article in the Daily Mail and wondering if you had a scouse accent and whether Mr P being so posh could understand you ! Great story. Looking forward to a happy ending for you ! :)

  5. I've got a bit of an accent so I think he does struggle somewhat! :)

  7. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your story! I read the Mail article then every single one of your blog posts immediately afterwards. I've been seriously thinking of doing something very similar in recent months but had reservations as to how my exuberant 2-year-old beagle Grumpus would fare within the confines of a motorhome. But you've given me the inspiration I needed to really go for it. I'll be starting out from the wilds of North Cornwall - if I make it as far as John O'Groats, can I pop in for coffee?! Best of luck with the job interview. Looking forward to hearing more of your adventures.

    All the best, Ann

PS No you definitely CAN'T have salad with meat and gravy!

  8. Haha I knew I was right on the 'salad'! I'm so glad you following your dream and definitely look in for a cuppa! :)

  10. Saw you on TV - what a lovely couple you make. Ignore the trolls, they're obviously just jealous and lacking the b***s to pursue their own dreams. Easier for them to sling arrows at yours. Loved the way you nuzzled Mr P's nose when you thought the cameras weren't on you anymore (then looked like a guilty schoolgirl caught behind the bike sheds!!).

  13. Noooo!! Just read your post from yesterday. Hope you're OK. You made so many of us believe in fairy tales..so thank you for that even if there was no happy ever after in the end. Better to have pursued your dreams and lived the fairy tale for a short time than never to have experienced that little bit of magic (like most people). If you, Milo and the beast make it as far as Cornwall, I've got a spare room you're welcome to use! Chin up, old bean x

  14. Ann thank you for your kind words x Cornwall does sound rather appealing...

  20. Loving reading about your latest adventures in Portugal though sad to hear you've had to give up The Beast. Have you sold him or is he still available? In which case I might be interested. x

    1. Oh Ann I'm finding it really difficult to part with the Beast and am having second thoughts about selling, even though my purse strings tell me I should!

  21. Completely understand how you feel after all you and Beast have gone through together!! Have a think about it. As I've mentioned before, I'm planning a great adventure of my own (with my beagle!). Perhaps I could hire the Beast for a while - that way you get some cash but don't lose him forever??!! x

  23. Nicci,
I found you from the article on the Lisdoonvarna website and I've enjoyed reading your entries. We have a lot in common: I had your same idea 5 years ago - to travel the US and meet every man who I matched up really high with on OKCupid, and find love. I got as far as contacting the first man, who was all for the idea... and then I just ran out of steam. Oh how I wish I had done it! Cheers to you, and if you decide to come to the US please look me up. In the mean time I will follow your blog.
